What does a bad oil do to the engine
2023-03-23
Oil is very important in the operation of the engine, mainly playing the role of lubrication, sealing and buffering, so what is the effect of bad oil on the engine?
1. The lubrication effect is not up to standard: the wear of various bearings and moving parts of the engine is aggravated, which reduces the service life of the engine;
2. Cause power decline: due to improper use of engine oil, the lubrication effect is not good, resulting in a rapid decline in engine power, which is not conducive to driving;
3. Serious engine wear: improper use of engine oil leads to poor oil viscosity. High viscosity oils are only suitable for some engines with heavy wear and tear, except during the southern summer. The oil should be changed in a timely manner.
4. Lead to increased carbon deposits: after long-term use, carbon deposits will appear around the piston rings, and the piston rings will be stuck or broken when the carbon deposits are serious.
5. Cause high engine temperature: improper use of engine oil will affect the work of many precision electronic equipment, resulting in high engine temperature;
6. Increase fuel consumption: increase the amount of lubricating oil splashed into the inner wall of the cylinder when the crankshaft and connecting rod rotate, that is, greatly increase the amount of lubricating oil entering the combustion chamber, increase the piston movement resistance, reduce engine power, and increase fuel consumption;
Engine oil may remain after each service. At this time, be sure to cover the oil with plastic wrap first, then cover it tightly with a lid and put it in a cool place. It is important to note that:
1. Engine oil can not be mixed: because there are many additives in engine oil, such as antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, defoamers, emulsifiers, etc., because different engine oils have different formulas, even different engine oils with the same viscosity can not be mixed, because chemical reactions will occur between different formulas of engine oils after mixing, resulting in reduced or invalid oil performance.
2. The filter element should be replaced at the same time when changing the oil: in order to prolong the service life of the oil, the old oil and lubrication system should be cleaned during the oil change. If possible, use a vacuum oil changer to change the oil and suck up the old oil. When the engine is working, the crankcase ventilation should be kept in good condition. When adding new oil, care should be taken not to allow impurities and moisture to mix.
