On December 14, the groundbreaking ceremony of Gulei Refining and Chemical Integration Project in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province was held on the Gulei Peninsula. Sheng Huaren, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10 th National People's Congress and vice chairman of the mainland side of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, Chen Yunlin, director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Committee of the 11 th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Gong Qingji, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Jiang Qingxi, vice chairman of the Taiwan side of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit
Bingkun, Fu Chengyu, former chairman of Sinopec Corporation and deputy convener of the Energy and Petrochemical Equipment Industry Cooperation Promotion Group of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneur Summit, Zhang Jianhua and Dai Houliang, senior vice presidents of the joint-stock company, Yu Weiguo, acting governor of Fujian Province, and Zhang Zhinan, executive vice governor of Fujian Province, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Zhangzhou Gulei Refining & Chemical Integration Project is a joint venture between Fujian Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. from mainland China and Xuteng Investment Co., Ltd. from Taiwan. In the first phase, it is planned to build 16 sets of chemical plants and supporting wharves and thermal power for one million tons of ethylene and downstream deep processing. The project is expected to be partially completed and put into operation in 2018.
All parties said that the Zhangzhou Gulei refining and chemical integration project is a demonstration project of cross-strait cooperation, which is conducive to the realization of complementary advantages, mutual benefit and common development between the two sides of the strait, and is of great significance to promote the deep integration of the petrochemical industry on both sides of the strait, work together to cope with international market competition, promote local economic development, and promote the peaceful development of the two sides of the strait.
